PPC (Pay Per Click) Advertising

An attractive method that can be used in conjunction with or as an alternative to SEO is pay per click advertising or PPC for short. Pay per click advertising is an online advertising method where you only pay for each visitor that clicks on your ad. Typically, these types of advertisements are linked to a specially created landing or lead capture page that acts a special sales page. Examples of some PPC ads are posted below. Out of respect for our clients and to prevent unnecessary click through which our clients would have to pay for, we do not display any of their ppc ads.

The circled areas represent areas where the ppc ads would display. The column on the right is where you would typically see your ad. You would bid on specific keywords for your ads to appear so if we were to use the example above, cell phone is the keyword entered and your ad would appear somewhere under the "sponsored links" depending on how much you bid for the keyword. The position at the top is always paying the most per click than all other ads beneath it. The costs per click can range anywhere from $.01 to $20+. You can see how PPC advertising can end up costing a fortune if used incorrectly but if the advertising is used effectively, you can see huge ROI. Some of our clients have elected to eliminate their mailers and other traditional advertising methods and stick with ppc advertising.

    1. PPC campaigns provide measurable results. You can test each ad and modify or delete the ads that are not performing.
    2. You can set a budget for each month and the budget will never exceed the specified amount.
    3. PPC campaigns bring in targeted traffic. It gives you control over who you are reaching out to.
    4. Increase ROI. As indicated in the 3rd reason, you are only reaching out to people who are interested in your product or service so your advertising expense is not wasted on an audience that is not interested.
    5. PPC campaigns can generate very quick results. Don't be surprised if you get results in a few minutes after your ad has been published.

There are a number of other reasons but these five are probably the most important ones to consider when starting a ppc campaign. If you are unsure, you can even test a few campaigns for a month just to see what the results will be at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising.
